Megaforce

Still on the Bostwickian theme.

As well known as Mr B is for the roles he played movies (ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW), television (SPIN CITY) and Broadway (GREASE) one of his greatest ever parts was that of Commander Hunter is the 1982 sci-fi actioner MEGAFORCE.

There are some who judge it as not being the finest of director Hal Needham’s films. Not on par with say, HOOPER, in which Burt Reynold’s played an aging stuntman teaching the ropes to a young Jan-Michael Vincent. But that’s a lotta baloney, friends.

Megaforce has Edward Mulhare in it, the man who went on to make a barely perceptible impact in the role of Devon Miles in television’s KNIGHT RIDER. And it also has Persis Khambatta who went completely bald and played Lietenant Ilia in that first disastrous Star Trek flick – STAR TREK: THE MOVIE (1979). She went on and on bout ‘V’ger’. But for that let’s blame the script, not the actor.

Having enjoyed her first slice of prime Hollywood turkey, Ms K went for another and the result is 1980s classic MEGAFORCE. Our man Barry Bostwick appears right at the end of this clip. But what an appearance!

Gusto, Brio and sheer Life Force!
